Our Video Style

Our video style is natural, timeless, and emotionally resonant. We aim to create wedding films that remain meaningful and beautiful, no matter how many years pass.

Unlike studios that rely on flashy transitions or trendy effects inspired by TikTok or Hollywood-style editing, we believe these styles age quickly and can feel awkward to watch after a few years.

Instead, we focus on clean, classic storytelling — with natural colour tones, minimal special effects, and well-composed shots that capture real emotions and rich visual details. We want your wedding video to feel like a heartfelt memory, not a fast-fading trend.

Complimentary Drone Shots

Drone footage provides a cinematic, aerial perspective that enhances the storytelling of your wedding film. It captures the beauty and scale of your venue in a way cameras cannot — particularly for outdoor or scenic locations.

While most studios charge hundreds for drone shots, Viva Weddings includes drone coverage at no additional cost, ensuring every couple receives the highest production value without added expenses.

Why Videography Matters More

Although many couples choose not to hire a videographer for their wedding day, we believe video might actually be more important than photos. Why? Because only video can truly capture your happiness, your emotions, and the way you felt in that moment — something photography alone simply can’t convey.

The way the groomsmen joke around and share a drink while getting ready. The bridal party’s priceless reaction the moment they see the bride in her dress. The father’s teary-eyed first look. The joy and emotion as you exchange vows — happiness and tears blending together.

These aren’t just moments; they’re movements, sounds, reactions — all happening in real time. Video captures the laughter in your voices, the way your hands tremble, the soft whispers, the cheers from your loved ones, and the music that filled the air.

From the quiet anticipation in the morning, to the heartfelt ceremony, to the wild dance floor celebration at night — video weaves all these pieces together into a living, breathing memory. It’s not just a record of what happened, but how it felt to be there.

That’s the power of wedding films.

Brisbane Wedding Videography – 10 FAQs

Wedding videos usually take much longer to edit than photos. We need to go through hundreds of clips, select music, sync audio, and apply colour correction — all of which can take over 10 hours of editing work. Typically, it takes about a month to complete a wedding video. However, at Viva Weddings, we understand you can’t wait to relive those moments, so we aim to deliver your video within just 2 weeks.

We use Sony cinema cameras for all our videos. These cameras are specifically designed for long-form recording and are equipped with internal cooling fans to prevent overheating. Brisbane’s spring, summer, and even autumn can get quite hot, so using cinema cameras is essential. In contrast, hybrid cameras are more likely to overheat and shut down during extended recording — which could result in missed moments. That’s why we invest in professional gear, ensuring nothing is missed on your big day.

We provide a full-length video that includes all the important moments with original sound. Unlike others who simply deliver raw footage, we carefully edit the video to remove shaky or unusable parts and apply the same professional colour grading as the highlight version, ensuring a consistent and polished look.

As professional videographers, we’re fully prepared for low-light situations. We bring high-powered movie lights — up to 300W — that can illuminate the entire venue if needed. In addition, each camera is equipped with a dedicated LED light mounted on the hot shoe, ensuring every important moment is well-lit and beautifully captured, no matter how challenging the lighting conditions may be.

Our videographers are professional, friendly, and always put your wedding first. Whether you book us for both photo and video, or just one of them, we treat every wedding like a VVIP event. We’re more than happy to work alongside photographers from other studios and will do our best to collaborate smoothly — all to ensure your day is captured perfectly.

An engagement video can be played on your wedding day and also serves as a great way to practise being in front of the camera. Since most people haven’t experienced a professional video shoot before, it helps you get comfortable, see how you appear on film, and build confidence for the big day.

It’s similar to asking a Hollywood director to share their raw or unused footage and unedited drafts. Our videos are shot in 10-bit 4:2:2, which appear flat and grey without proper colour grading (LUTs). Raw footage is not meant to be viewed or used without professional editing. We also don’t allow others to edit our raw footage without permission, as poor editing could damage our reputation. We want our clients to see only the best final result. You will receive a fully colour-graded highlight video and a professionally edited full-length version.

It depends on the package you choose. Our standard package includes one wedding videographer. However, if you want your wedding film to be more dynamic and cinematic, we recommend booking a two-videographer package. This allows one videographer to focus on documentary-style coverage while the other captures creative and cinematic shots. For cultural weddings—such as Croatian, Lebanese, or Serbian celebrations that involve a lot of dancing—having two videographers is highly recommended to ensure no important moments are missed.

Absolutely — that’s one of the things that makes Viva Weddings different. Most couples aren’t professional models, and if a wedding is entirely candid with no direction, the results can often look flat or repetitive. We believe a little guidance goes a long way. Simple posing and gentle direction help create variety, natural expressions, and elegant compositions. While some studios promote a purely candid style, it’s often due to a lack of vision. Just like a great film needs a script, a great wedding shoot benefits from thoughtful guidance.

Brisbane’s spring and summer seasons are known for heavy rain, so wet weather on your wedding day is not uncommon.

We highly recommend having a backup plan in place. If it does rain, rest assured — our cameras are fully weather-sealed and capable of filming even in heavy downpours. We also provide transparent wedding umbrellas that not only keep you dry but also add an elegant touch to your video.

In the rare case of a storm or lightning, if your venue doesn’t have a suitable indoor location for filming, we offer an additional two-hour location shoot on another day. This service is available on weekdays only, and we’ll only charge a $200 travel fee.
